Minister Edward Smith

Personal Bio:

Senior Associate Minister
TASC Summer Camp Director

Motivational Achievement Program (MAP)

In a word, COPCC is Home to me! I am excited mostly by the endless possibilities, promise, and potential possessed within the Youth and Families in COPCC and the surrounding community. I have had and still experience endless opportunities for GOD to use me to assist my Pastor in facilitating the various aspects of the Vision in the areas of: Music Ministry; Youth Ministry; Administration; Preaching; Teaching; Men’s Ministry; and Prayer.

Our GOD is a LIBERATOR and at COPCC one has the opportunity to experience a relevant WORD that will speak to the areas of bondage in their lives and receive the LIBERATION that comes with knowing and loving JESUS.

My favorite scripture is Psalms 126:6 “He that goes to and fro weeping baring precious seed, shall indeed come again rejoicing bringing his sheaves with him.” Cathedral is a place for those of us who have come through various experiences in life and throughout our journeys, as Thomas A. Dorsey states, “Sometimes stumbling, sometimes falling, and sometimes alone…” have carried and spread the precious seed of promise, and now ready to reap the Harvest!

Trustee Tom Cook - Chairman of Trustee Board

Personal Bio:

I am blessed to be a nine year member of COPCC Ministries as both a leader and believer of the word as submitted by our Pastor and Teacher, Rev. La Verne Adams. My role as The Board Chairman of Trustees is to collect, record and facilitate the general fiscal budget via "tithes & offerings" towards the governing of funds donated to missions, outreach, pastoral support and church building maintenance…all to the glory of God. As a "worshipper" in song-I feel purposed to honor God in praise 110%.

I know what He's done for me and my family so my "praise and worship" becomes my testimony to all of God's "grace", "mercy" and "everlasting power" to overcome the "strongholds" of the enemy. “I come to worship!”

Jesus was a carpenter and I find it astonishing that a "church metaphor" ...I am a building under construction-truly reflects our (COPCC)history. It is no mistake that a ministry previously led towards destruction would be "miraculously salvaged" by the vision of one "compassionate" architect (Reverend Adams) to resurrect God's purposeful plan for His house of prayer. I thank God for Jesus and Rev. Adams for believing that word is true.

My "favorite" scripture is: 3 John:2 "Beloved, I pray that you prosper and be in good health as your soul prospers."

God Bless,

Trustee Tom Cooke

Elder Rose Cook - Church Administrator Emeritus

Personal Bio:

As an Elder, Trustee and Church Administrator for the Cathedral of Praise Community Church, I get to be involved in our ministry in various ways. Each role takes consistent prayer and communication with our leader, Pastor Adams, as well as staying in touch with God and other leaders and members. Cathedral of Praise is not your ordinary church. It is infused with a godly spirit of love, kindness and patience that keeps us connected as a family. I really get excited about how God speaks to our pastor, Rev. Adams, and how He blesses her with awesome visions. Pastor shares her God-given visions with us to enable us, as disciples to use our gifts, talents and abilities, to make the visions a reality.

I really get excited as Pastor goes where God sends her, all over the world, teaching, preaching, taking the Word to hungry, bound people, waiting for deliverance. What continues to amaze and keeps me praising His Name, is the awesome power God’s Word has to transform His people. When His Word gets into your heart, you talk differently, walk differently and you stop focusing on how big your “mountain” is and focus on how “large and in charge” God is!

Many of us who have been taught the importance of recognizing and utilizing our godly gifts, talents, and abilities. Then we can be a valuable component to advance God’s Kingdom through this great vision, all to God’s Glory!

As I focus on God’s Vision for Cathedral Of Praise, these words from Apostle Paul comes to mind: “Beloved, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but this one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us then who are mature be of the same mind; and if you think differently about anything, this too God will reveal to you. Only let us hold fast to what we have attained.” Philippians 3:13-16

Deacon Dale R. Croxton - Diakonake Ministry Leader

Personal Bio:

For the past ten years, I have been under the tutelage of Reverend LaVerne Adams. Pastor Adams has taught me to be an example to other believers in speech, conduct, love and faith. She has been a role model and teacher to me and because of this, I have grown both emotionally and spiritually.

By attending weekly bible study classes conducted by Reverend Adams, I have learned the true meaning of worship and how to praise God for all He has done in my life. In addition to this, I have developed leadership skills, which has helped me in my role as a deacon at Cathedral of Praise. Pastor Adams has held several leadership academies for those members of the congregation who aspire to do more in God’s kingdom. Through these seminars I have learned how to properly carry out my ministry responsibilities. My goal at Cathedral of Praise is to become all that I can in the Spirit of Christ through the life that I live.

Jesus said: “I am the vine, you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me….My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be My disciples” (John 15:5, 8). Paul wrote, “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control” (Gal. 5:22-23). I aspire to prove myself worthy by producing much fruit and to be full of the Spirit.
